Day 28

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Twenty-Eight

Less of Me, More of You Lord

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

As you humble yourself before the Lord, He will exalt you. The Christian attitude of humility says, let Christ be exalted as we humble ourselves. John the Baptist had a revelation as he said "He(Jesus) must increase but I must decrease. Purpose today that Jesus will live big in your life. Jesus increase and you decrease when you:

A. Humble yourself.

Matt 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Prov 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

B. Seek first the Kingdom.

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

C. Live a surrendered life.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

D. Remember you are not your own.

1 Cor 6:19,20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

E. Crucify the flesh.

Rom 8:13,14 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

1 Cor 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Gal 5:24,25 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

F. Take up your cross daily.

Matt 16:24,25 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Sample Prayer: Lord, be glorified in my life. I humble myself before you. Jesus, I ask you to live big within my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
