Day 29

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Twenty-Nine

May the Light of Christ Shine Through Me Today

Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Purpose today to let the light of Christ shine through you. This world we live in is full of darkness. We as Christians must let the light of Christ shine though us.   Let someone witness Christ's love flowing through you. May someone witness what a servant's heart is like because of your example. Endeavor to make every day of your life count for God's Kingdom by letting your light shine. Jesus said, "Ye are the light of the world. Let your light shine.

A. Light draws people unto it.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

B. Don't live in former darkness, but walk as children of the light.

Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

C. Be an example of Christian living.

1 Tim 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

D. You are the light of the world.

Phil 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Matt 5:14
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Sample PrayerLord, I ask you to live through me today in a world that others may see your shining light in me. Lord, I purpose to represent you well today and everyday. In Jesus Name, Amen.
