Day 39

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Thirty-Nine
Worship As A Lifestyle

John 4:23,24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Worship is much more than the activity accompanied by music at the beginning of a church service. That is indeed a part of worship. However, true worship envelopes the whole lifestyle. Worship living is a way to continually give glory to God. Worship should be a part of your devotional life. In all our ways, we are to acknowledge Him. Worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. Take some time now and just worship God for who He is to you. All through the day, commune with God in your heart.

A. Praise and worship glorifies God.
Ps 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

B. Offer unto the Lord the sacrifice of praise.
Ps 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

C. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name.
1 Chron 16:29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
1. Bring an offering before the Lord and worship through giving.
2. Worship the Lord with a lifestyle of holiness.

D. Worship gives you victory.
2 Chron 20:21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

E. Worship flows out of the spirit filled life.
Eph 5:18-20 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Sample Prayer: Lord, I thank for your grace, your love and your majesty. Thank you for loving me. I love you Lord. I exalt you! I worship you. Father, you are the most high God.
 (Now just keep talking to the Father that way until your heart is content. Sing a song unto the Lord. Pray in the spirit. Worship God!)
