Day Twenty-Four

Praying for Family Salvation

John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Because of the great love we have for our families, their salvation becomes a major concern for us. Family members have great influence on one another. Use your influence to win your family to the Lord. Look for opportunities to share the gospel with your family members. Pray for their salvation. Believe for every family member to come to Christ. Be an intercessor for your family. Follow these guidelines as you pray for your family's salvation.

A. Pray For Your Extended Family's Salvation.

Acts 10:2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.

· Make A Prayer List Consisting of Family Members and close friends.

Acts 10:24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

Cornelius fasted and prayed.

Acts 10:30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

Expose Family Members to the Word-Preaching and Teaching

Bring them to church with you.

Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

B. Ask God For an Opportunity to Share Your Faith With Your Family Members.

John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

John 4:28,29 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, ²⁹ Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

C. Pray for Christian Laborers that Will Witness to Your Family.

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

D. Be Consistent in Your Christian Walk and Convictions.

Titus 2:7,8 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, ⁸ Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

E. Expect their salvation.

See every family member saved through they eye of faith

Sample Prayer: Father, I ask that every member of my family be saved. May the eyes of their understanding come open. Lord, give me a door of utterance that I may share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Send Christian laborers into their lives who will share Jesus with them. I pray specifically for ____________________ (Person's Name) salvation. Lord, let my life always reflect Jesus. In Jesus Name, Amen.
