Day 14

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Fourteen
Praying For World Missions
Mark 13:10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
The church has been commissioned to "go into all the world and preach the gospel. Much of the world still has not heard the gospel. The world doesn't hear unless the church preaches the Good News of Jesus Christ. God says, "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. ( Isa 45:22) While all cannot physically go into the far corners of the world we should be a support to those answering the call to be missionaries. We should pray that the entire world hears the gospel of Jesus Christ. Make today your personal missions day. Give a special missions offering today. Pray specifically for world missions and missionaries. Here are some prayer guidelines:
A. Pray for Laborers.
Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Matt 28:19,20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
B. Pray for Provisions for the Work and the Workers.
Rom 15:25-27 But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints. 26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.  27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
C. Pray for the Safety of Christian Workers Everywhere.
Ps 91:11,12 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Ps 121:7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
D. Pray for Favor.
1. Government Officials
2. Local People
3. Support Base
4. God
Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
E. Relationship and Support of the Local Church.
Rom 10:15 "And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him? ¦TLB
1. Prayer Covering
2. Financial Support
3. Sense of Belonging/Encouragement
F. Door of Utterance
Col 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
Ps 22:27,28 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. 28 For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.
Ps 67:1,2 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. 2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
Sample Prayer: Lord may the earth be filled with the knowledge of your Word. Bless and strengthen the missionaries around the world. Open doors of opportunity for them. May the church be sensitive and supportive to missionaries. Lord, let all the world hear the gospel. In Jesus Name, Amen.
