Day 18

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Eighteen
I Open My Heart Unto the Lord

Heb 8:10,11 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Keeping your heart opened before God is vital to your Christian walk. A heart that is opened to God will say yes to His will. This is a heart full of love, willing to forgive and quick to repent. The things that are in your heart will manifest in your life. Remembering the following will help you keep an opened heart before God:

A. Out of the Heart Comes the Issues of Life.
Prov 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

B. A New Heart
Ezek 36:26,27 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

C. To Hide the Word In Your Heart.
Ps 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Matt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

D. Jesus Lives in Your Heart.
2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

E. An Opened Heart is Obedient Unto the Lord.
Deut 30:2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

Sample Prayer: Lord, I open my heart unto you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
