Day 11

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

 Day Eleven
Make Me to Know My Ways O Lord

Prov 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
Ps 44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
1 Cor 14:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
The Bibles says that a man way is right in his own eyes. Only when we see ourselves as God sees us do we have a true picture of ourselves. We must judge ourselves and not others. Too often we see only our own strengths while focusing on the weaknesses of others. Ask God to reveal your character, motives, etc. Be prepared to accept what he shows you. Also be willing to make the necessary adjustments in your life. Here are three ways to clearly see yourself:

A. Ask God to Show You the Real You.
Job 13:23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
B. Look Into the Perfect Law of Liberty.
James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
C. Accept the Preached Word as God Talking One on One to You.
1 Cor 14:24-25 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
D. Allow Those That Love You to Speak Freely Without Fear of Retaliation.
True Friends Will Tell You the Truth if You Will Hear Them.
Sample Prayer: Lord, show me my ways. Reveal unto me my character, my motives, and the hidden things in my heart. Father, let you word come alive to me and reflect the true me. Let the message preached be a word unto me. Send the right people in my life that will speak truthfully to me. Help me Lord to receive that truth. Thank you Lord for showing me myself. In Jesus Name. Amen.
