Walking by Faith
2 Cor 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight).
Christianity is a walk of faith. We have to trust God whom we do not see to take us to a place we have not been by a way we often do not understand. Faith says to God, "I trust the integrity of your Word. Walking by faith is living in reliance upon trusting in God. We trust God because:
1. We have an inerrant record of God written in the Bible.
2. Our spirit bears witness that we are the children of God.
3. The heavens and nature declare the glory of God.
4. Historical, scientific and archeological data give validity to the Bible which says God is.
A. The just shall live by faith.
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
B. Faith is necessary in order to please God.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
C. A believer's faith can move mountains.
Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
D. Faith requires love in order to work.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
