A Word in Season Day 13

Wednesday, October 13, 2010                                                                                     Having a Passion for God

Having a Passion for God Pt 2
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Jesus gave us God's requirement - total devotion. God wants our lives to be completely His. Our heart - spirit, inner being - should be filled with love for God. We should love God consciously with our mind and thought life. We should love God with our bodies by honoring Him in lifestyle and service. God expects us to love Him with our whole being. When we have a passion for God, we give Him our everything: our souls, our lives, and our all. Passion means Jesus is your first love.

This kind of passion comes from knowing God, understanding of who He is, recognizing what He has done for us, and the reality of His great passionate love for us. This is revealed to us by His spirit as we spend time in prayer. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. ." (1 Cor 2:9-10)
Prayer Focus: Father with my whole being, I love you. You are first in my life.
Verse of the Day: Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Living the Word Today: Worship the Lord expressing your love for Him. Give God thanks for His love.
