Friday, October 1, 2010                                                                                                               Pastor Appreciation
Receiving Your Pastor as a Gift
Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.... 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
God placed the office of the pastor in the church to care for His people. Pastors have a shepherding responsibility that includes feeding you with the Word of God, watching for your souls, leading you "beside the still waters", "edifying and equipping" you to do the work of ministry. God called pastors to be His servants as gifts to the church.
The Pastor's Ministry includes being:
1.     Called and Separated by God                                    1 Tim 1:12
2.     An Intercessor (Prayer)                                            Col 1:19
3.     An Under shepherd - Watch for Your Souls                Heb 13:17
4.     A Feeder of Knowledge and Understanding               1 Pet 5:2
5.     A Visionary President and CEO                                 Heb 13:7
6.     An Example Unto the Congregation                          1 Peter 5:3
7.     A Protector of  the Congregation                             Acts 20:28
