Day 35

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Thirty-Five
God Has Given You Power Over All the Power of the Enemy

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
The Lord has given the believer authority over the devil. Jesus spoiled principalities (demonic forces) and made an open show of them. Jesus took the keys (authority) that were surrendered by Adam's transgression. The Lord then transferred that authority to the church by a power of attorney-His name. Therefore, when you are in faith and give a command to the devil in the Name of Jesus, he has to obey you! Use your God given authority.
A. Signs follow the believer.
Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

B. God, the Greater One, is on your side.
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Rom 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

C. The devil can not come and take you out of God's hand.
John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

 D. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. AMP
1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. KJV
1 Peter 5:8-10 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same ( identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you. AMP

Sample Prayer: Father, today I stand against the pressures and resist the temptations of the devil in the name of Jesus. I thank you for total victory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
