Day 13

Forty Days of Preparation Daily Devotions

Day Thirteen
Strengthen the Brethren

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (Luke 22:32)
We have been blessed to be a blessing. As your life has been blessed and restored, you should purpose to bless the lives of others. We as Christians can not just sit back and watch the devil take advantage of weak or young Christians. We need to be strengthened by each other. Ask God for an opportunity to strengthen someone today. Here are some ways to "strengthen the brethren.

A. Pray One for Another.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
B. Encourage Others.
Deut 3:28 But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.
C. Provoke Each Other Unto Love and Good Works.
Heb 10:24  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
D. Restore the Fallen.
Gal 6:1  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted
John 20:23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
E. Pray for the Sick.
James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
F. Comfort Those That Are in Any Trouble.
2 Cor 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
G. Be a Light Unto the World.
Matt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Ps 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Sample Prayer: Lord, use me today to strengthen the lives of others. Make me a blessing. I pray for _________ to be restored into Christian fellowship. Let healing be manifested in _____________ body today. Strengthen _____________ as he/she serves in your kingdom.   In Jesus Name, Amen.
